Example Cues

Time Audio cue
t-35 Backstage 1/2 hr call before show time:- Ladies and Gents of the cast, half an hour to curtain up.“
FOH call:- Good evening ladies and Gents, tonights performance of XXX will start in 30 mins.
t-20 Backstage 15 mins before showtime:- Ladies and Gents of the cast, 15 minutes to curtain up.
FOH call:- Good evening ladies and Gents, tonights performance of XXX will start in 15 mins.
t-10 Backstage 5 mins before showtime:- Ladies and Gents of the cast, 5 minutes to curtain up.
FOH call:- Good evening ladies and Gents, tonights performance of XXX will start in 5 mins, please take your seats.
t-5 Backstage beginners call:- “actors list” to your positions, Standby stage and tech crews

Cans behaviour

Cues named Lx cue, Sound Cue & Stage cue, numberes LX Q 10 for example.

Cue Purpose
Quiet on cans Too much chatter! All operators must be quiet unless there is a reason.
Standby LX Q 10 response is “Standing by” to ensure you have acknowledged.
LX Q 10, Go! Operator should reply if it is not obvious a cue has started, “Running”
Going off cans Let everyone know you are not available for a short time.

Note. Standby should be the first word of a cue instruction, and Go should be the last.
