====== Cisco 1000 router ====== {{:networking:retro:cisco-1000-isdn.jpg?100 |Cisco 1000 with ISDN}} {{:networking:retro:cisco-1000-isdn-rear.jpg?100 |1000 router rear}}This is a rather basic router, it was the Mediahub's first internet connection which was provided by Telewest I think. Interestingly, it was connected via a BT 2MB/s circuit, this was delivered over an SDSL copper line with a [[telecoms:bt-nte51-2|BT NTE52]]. They never bothered to collect it, so several years after the line was ceased and we moved building, I had it rather than the bin. It does have a rather cool looking sloped front panel. But this is offset by a 12V power socket using an odd mini DIN connector. {{:networking:retro:cisco-1000-serial.jpg?100 |}} {{:networking:retro:cisco-1000-serial-rear.jpg?100 |}} Mine is a 1005 and is equiped with a 10 MB/s ethernet LAN port and a 2MB/s 60 pin connector for the WAN and a Cisco console cable. Other models had ISDN support, 1003 model. The IOS and config is stored on a PCMCIA card behind a panel. This is another model where Cisco have reused the number, so if you want to buy a 1000-series router, you get this:- [[https://www.cisco.com/site/us/en/products/networking/sdwan-routers/1000-series-integrated-services-routers-isr/index.html]] ===== ISDN ===== https://www.firewall.cx/cisco/cisco-routers/cisco-router-isdn-config.html https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice/digital-ccs/64811-isdn-tdm-switch.html https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice/digital-ccs/15415-bri-voice-port-cfg.html?referring_site=bodynav ===== 2MB/s WAN ===== x
