Definately a Retro project, this is a 10 MB/s catalyst switch base unit with an expansion module called a "Flex Slot" above. Definately a Retro project, this is a 10 MB/s catalyst switch base unit with an expansion module called a "Flex Slot" above.
-In fact this is so old that Cisco have a new Catalyst 3100 product ([[https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/switches/catalyst-ie3100-rugged-series/series.html]]), a rugged industrial style switch with 1GB/s SFPs fitted!!  The base unit has the console serial port for setup, an AUI port which is shared with RJ45 E1, and another AUI labelled "SPAN". Not sure what this does yet.  The base unit has the console serial port for setup, an AUI port which is shared with RJ45 E1, and another AUI labelled "SPAN". Not sure what this does yet.

24 10MB/s ethernet ports are accessible on the front panel, there is an additional one which is hard wired through the backplane to the Flex Slot. 24 10MB/s ethernet ports are accessible on the front panel, there is an additional one which is hard wired through the backplane to the Flex Slot.

The switches I have are fitted with a router module, this is functionally the same as a 2500 router with two 60 pin sockets for the WAN, and an AUX serial connector. It also has an ISDN BRI socket. The switches I have are fitted with a router module, this is functionally the same as a 2500 router with two 60 pin sockets for the WAN, and an AUX serial connector.  I think the G703 BNC ports can just be crossed over Rx to Tx, maybe with one set to the clock master. The Nokia DNT2 may be more fun as they connect back to the exchange with SDSL on two pairs, not sure if I can just cross Rx to Tx and expect them to work. I think the G703 BNC ports can just be crossed over Rx to Tx, maybe with one set to the clock master.  +However, this picture from Nokia's documentation suggests this may be possible:-
