After the fibre and NTE was installed and operaational, I connected the ethernet and after I had an L2 link, I disconnected the ADSL RJ45 cable. Whilst this was happening, I was running a ping from an internal machine to 1.1.1.1, after the ADSL was disconnected, this was lost, but 13 pings later it came back up using the fibre.
